The Zen Den twin 6-inch inner spring mattress arrived in a box and was unpackaged easily, fully expanded in a few hours & had a very slight odor initially which I think was more the plastic it was wrapped in. For an inexpensive mattress, it is a decent quality, pretty supportive but a bit more on the firm side vs medium/firm. I, however, do prefer a bit softer mattress, yet it will be the perfect addition for our guest bedroom.
